Indeed, though i dident find the Xbox controler that big, the playatation have a very well designed pad, which had carryed through well. though i like the consept of the wii one, it could be more friendly looking, but how to make something liek that more ergonomic with out falling in to the Xbox trap of only making it right for a certain hand size...
on the games front i agree as well, the would need to be at least 6 launch titles over a range of games, though there might be some thrid pary games we can bring in to bolster the relase range.

Personally, I think it should be around the 10 launch games, ranging from 5 first party games, 3 new third party games and hopefully, we can try and snag up the exclusive rights from some sequels to fairly popular games to attract a starting fanbase.
Also, the Xbox controller S was fine to play with, it was big but it wasn't unwieldy so you got used to it quickly. However I do agree that the PS2's controller was better in the comfort department overall.
Also another important factor is concentrating on a certain target audience, when launch games are announced, too many kiddy games might tell gamers that the system is for children rather than adults (a bit like Nintendo's gamecube). While the games might not suck, some people might feel embarassed to announce to their peers that they own said game system if it was overall regarded as a child's toy.
So the launch games will reflect the system's target audience by how balanced they are in appearance and complexity.

Agreed, don't make the same mistake they did. I understand the concept of E for Everyone. But with peoples minds so wrapped around graphics and hwo things act, there's not much you can do about it. Still, I say a good amount of each. Peraheps 3 E, 4 T, and the rest mature titles. Perhapes. You could always change it up though.
And I'd prefer to have more exclusive, and 1st party ones. Simply because I dont trust the development of otehr too well. <.< Something to do with me being paranoid. XD

So, one or two for younger audiances, a few for maturer audiances..maybe a puzzle game, and a sports game for those who actually play sports video games, not meaning to offend to those who like the games ^^. Hm, a well balanced gamer's diet, no? (that is just the launch selection..)

I learnt in Multimedia class that a target audience is defined at the very beginning of a project, since this is video games we're talking about, we probably want a general audiance so yeah, we need a balanced selection for the launch.
It'll give the message we want to send.
