No, there's just a PS3 with pretty much NOTHING for 500 bucks, and a fully loaded for 600. Which is just kinda stupid in itself, just the the 360's thing, where there was the basic setup, then you had to buy all the extra crap later.

yeah, after all, why think up your own ideas when you can steal and badly implement other peoples!
to be sightly Fair to the 360, none of the stuff in the more expensive version is required for you to get a decent gaming experience, it is just supposed to enhance it, but to be honest i have a problem with most wireless kit at running out if juice while playing would miff me off mighty.
plus i would be well up for crushing Sony under the boot of superior platform and games! if we really did get that good though bill would just drive up with a dumper truck of cash and buy us out...
i have weakness to large volumes of cash. ;D

Which is why you'll hold no shares of property. XD Like hell we'd sell out. Then we'd be no better. Fight 'till the end! Never give up! We must bring happiness to all those hopeful gamers! *dramatic stance*
Besides...I'd hate to be sold like some toy. I'd rather do my own games then be with someone else. I'd hate to be the little sidekick of Microsoft or sony. XD Nintendo's okay though...Since they rock. *baised*
Also, if we DID have a company, what would it's name be?

The PS3's item roster is....well, something like that. Certain aspects of the PS3 will be unavailable in the cheaper version. Like online capability is unavailable because the part that takes care of the Wi-fi connectivity will be absent.
However, you can always upgrade it later if you want to add that capability.
Also, the memory stick reader, is unavailable. It's not very important I imagine as the PS3 uses a hard drive like the Xbox 360 (although with much bigger capacity). Guess it just means you can transfer data from PS3 to PS3. Like the wi-fi, you can upgrade your PS3 with the reader through the aid of an adaptor.
Apparently there's only one thing between the two that can't be upgraded and that's the HDMI support...which I have no idea what it really is...so I could care less.
The thing works, it just...works less awesomly than the fully upgraded version.

Or random thing from whogirl? cause if it were't for whogirl, this forum wouldnt exist and the idea would not have been concieved..? Oh! And we need launch game ideas... In a perfect world..there are no such things as push backs...but push forwards...^_^

Drinal Martty?
I...have a few game's I'd like to create... 2 of them... Both of them though, are rather focused on ideas I've had, so really, not too many things outside of my own little universe apply. Mainly, Drifter as the main character. I've had delusions of maybe making a flash series or something out of them, games being the primary option. I don't have names...but over and over again I've replayed multiple parts of each, down to the point of memorization. If I wrote it all down, I think it'd actually pass as a marketable game. I've seen games with far less then what I've just started to plan out. Even if I didn't have my own company, I'd still try to pitch to idea to a company that can make it happen. Such as Namco's Tales Studio. I plan to do this either way. Currently working of scripts, character designs, plots, game mechanics, and the likes. One hell of a game I plan to make. mwehehe.

Heh heh, I'm actually studying to become a game developper so I think I've gone a little bit a ahead of you guys. I've gotten skills with scripting(writing code) in flash and I can model in 3D as well so I plan to work on a game by myself this summer (though I might need some voice acting eventually...)
On top of that, I've written a few stories thanks to my times as an RPer...the good ol' days.
Mostly my game ideas go along the lines of RPGs and Fighting games though I have one action type game I plan to make too, although, I'm not gonna make me the main char though lol, Final will just appear as a sort of easter egg for players (like in an RPG fighting arena, he could be a secret fight)

I chose Drifter simply because I like him...me...whichever one he's representing at the time. XD He's just someone I like and can change at my will. I realize that after abit of looking, his design is rather cliche and overused, though I didn't know it when I first made 'em.
And just because you have a headstart don't mean nuthin'. =o I'm so gonna wipe the floor with ya. It's funny, cause everything you said, I've done as well, just to a lesser extent. Though I've done probably alot less Modeling. I lost the software for it a long time ago. And I know only alittle actionscript, probably no where near as much as you. But my imagination has led to alot of stories so far. XP I can totally beat ya.

!!!!
Oh it's on!!!
When you challenge my imaginative power, you're really pushing the envelope there...Trust me...I'm not someone to be taken lightly there either.
Although, I'm not gonna underestimate you either. I won't pull any punches just because I'm older.
Oh and when I spoke of flash scripting, I just meant I had an advanced concept of scripting and such. Actionscript isn't all that I'm limited to, I happen to also be excellent in Lingo, HTML, Javascript. My main strenght is modeling however, I've only been with XSI for a small amount of time so I'm not up to CG level yet (which is what I'm aiming for no matter how high that pole is) but i've done my best working with low level modeling in the meantime.
I might show you guys the result of one of my works a bit later on...
So, just a word of warning :
You're going down! XD

Oh, bring it on homeslice!!
I have abit of knowledge of HTML, XHTML, and CSS. I once had I site was working on, along with the help of my bestest friend ever, Gobolt. He knows alot more then me, but I learned some low level stuff. So I'm not completely without some idea of what I'm doing. And I'm learning abit about C++, though much much less then the others.
I may not be the best artist, but I'm getting abit better. And I may not be the best at Photoshiping (considering I use GIMP. XD), but again, I know a thing or two about both.
I have a knack for music, I've come up with only a few jingles of my own, but I'm good with my ears, and I practice playing songs I know by ear alone using my keyboard. I hope to become a good remixer, if I can ever afford the equipment... I've got alot of ideas for songs and such.
But it's my imagination, that if nothing else, I'm convinced I shall, and always will win when pitted against anyone elses.
But I say...no matter how bad you are... Aim for the heavens with your goals. Never think realisticly. If you aim for the moon, no matter if you fail, you've got a good chance of doing better then you would have if you had aimed for a roof.
Besides, you're older then me. XD Give me two years and I'd have a good chance of being caught up with ya.

Heh, in those two years i'll have gained experience in the matter! Which is fundamental in any job , plus my skills will have most likely developed as well.
I like to think realistically, while dreaming all at the same time. Keeping my feet on the ground while letting my imagination soar, I know how much work it'll take to do what I want to do in life and I've let people know that my little dream isn't just a fantasy cooked up by some kid who has no notion of the world. I'm only at the novel level as far as the industry goes however...
But I don't let my current lack of skills keep me down either when I imagine scenarios, storylines and gameplay for games.
I want a job that I'll love, and making video games is that job.
As for music...well, I've been introduced to Acid and Sound Forge so I can probably mix and match various free music loops from the internet to make some decent tunes however, I've never really given it much time as none of my college works have asked that I go in depth with them.
Oh by the way, download the Acid Xpress trial if you want something to give you an idea how good you are. Free music loops are easy to find on the web, and Acid's trial allows you to save 20 different songs before it ends and gives you most of it's functionnalities, enough for the teacher to consider that we were properly introduced with it anyways.
20 Full songs may not seem much but it gives you a good idea on your skill's standings...
Either way, if you like it you can always acquire it...ahem...the Internet way.
Long story short :
Don't underestimate me, I won't underestimate you if we ever do have a battle of skills. And I promise, I would never go easy on someone just because they have less experience than I, that's just rude lol.

Good. Pity never did anyone any good. I'd hate to win simply because someone felt sorry that I was worse then them. Screw that.
And thanks for the Acid thing, I'll have to check it out...mwehehe... Though, now the choice comes...which song to do first? I'll never be able to choose. XD

i know, but a boy can dream of enough cash to fill a swimming pool... so one can swim in it. well, back to my end, names for companies... Future Tech? might give the wrong impression though, as frankly new tech ain't whats needed it's using current tech intelligently. games? always wanted to do a decent ninja game, the first tenchu was good but it sort of went of the rails after that, don't get me started on ninja gaiden etc... also a cyberpunk Rpg that doesn't suck as hard as the second Deus Ex did, because that really did suck hard.

Some other things to consider when making our own system - Controllers format - Xbox..just too big to control it very well Release Dates - I know it's already been mentioned, but Nintendo really screwed up by releasing the DS without much of a choice of launch games. Most of the ones that were supposed to e released weren'y out for another 6 - 12 months, so i've heard. Most of my friends who had one took traded theirs to Game Crazy....bleh..and I bet thousands across the country did. (On the other hamd, this may result in double sales...for once the interesting games are released people may want to buy another DS....HMMMMMM!) I still say its a dumb plan >_>;; Playable Games - IAnother DS goof. I was playing a metroid game as a ddemo in the store..and its like you need one thumb for the directional pad...one thumb for the a/b buttons....and you need a whole different hand for the touch pade to look around and aim.....bleh!!! i'll think of more...

Controlers indeed, they can't be overly strange like the PS3 Boomarang was either.
Release Dates; That all falls on the respective departments for each game. if they fall behind, there's not much that can be done about it.
PLayable Games - Although I think it would be hilarious ot watch someone play a gamer like that agreed. They need to be orthodox enough to be able to play them,.
